We realise this maybe very subjective but which villages or areas would any of you recommend for us to start our Cyprus life in? We are fit and active 50 something couple and enjoy an hour and a half daily walk in countryside. So ideally we would like to be somewhere that is not built up. We love to go out for meals and drinks and would like to live within easy walking distance (10 - 15 minutes perhaps) of a local restaurant or two. Any villages or areas spring to mind? Thanks in anticipation. |

Kathikas sounds the ticket. Not built up,wonderful walks and some of the best Tavernas around all in walking distance. There are many others that members live in and they will tell you about their villages. There are few villages that are totally unspoilt yet still have facilities as the developers are here! |

must admit that Peyia offers a lot chemists, banks, petrol stations, Supermarket, a lot of diferent tavernas, and easy to reach walks, near to the sea and beach walks luv the mountain folks...but they get all the bad winter weather. when we have blue skies and sunshine  we love living here maggie |

These are some of problems I heard people mention when they got a more remote home. How offend you may go to the airport? Do you use buy a lot frozen products? When far out from a major town/city has found it a really pain bring back frozen and sometimes fresh food. You need to be a good planner with shopping list as well. Are you wanting to eat out in a lot non-Cypriot restaurants? Apart from along bits the coast road and the major cities, they aren't many non-Cypriot food places. So need to think about distance driving etc. For some people these are minor problems. But for quite a few people they thought it would be too bad but end up moving to a more central locations. |

They want somewhere out in the countryside, not Little Britain!!  We live up in the hills just outside Pafos in a village called Amargeti - none of that rotten humidity during the summer - and countryside all the way round including a beautiful nature walk - walkers regularly come through the village...................and two tavernas to choose from and many more within 20 minutes drive. chris |

The walks in the hills are good and just a bit up the road is Armou. I would live there but property at a premium. Interact with the local Cypriot population every day and they are lovely. |
