| Post subject: | Energy watchdog adopts EAC’s RES projects |
The Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (Cera) has adopted a draft decision on the development of Renewable Energy Source (RES) projects by the EAC, with the aim of expanding RES into the island’s energy mix. The draft decision, entitled “Regulation of the development of RES projects for electricity generation by the Cyprus Electricity Authority” was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic on July 14. After the draft’s publication, EAC submitted a plan for the installation of electricity production systems from RES, detailing the process of their development, licensing and implementation, which was approved by Cera. I realise i am very cynical ! But surely this is too little too late ! And all the while fossils fuel fines are being passed on to us , the users, who have no control over policy! Surely the eac should stand the fines cost as they are responsible for failure to act at the required time . |
