A list of popular food items to be sold without VAT charges is currently under consideration by the government.

As reported in Philenews on Wednesday, the list is likely to include 10-15 foods and other items considered to be basic necessities, such as bread, milk, and baby food.

The possibility of temporary VAT reduction on these items to relieve consumers came after the EU Commission informed member states of this option. In fact, some countries have already reduced VAT on a range of food and other products.

So because the EU said its ok then they can.

Time to get away from the EU and live by ones own sword again like Cyprus did for many years.

Yeah, leaving the EU did great things for the UK, didnt it? Not!

The UK is now the lowest performing member of the G7. Why? Because it stuck its fingers up at it's closest and biggest trading partner, thanks to incompetent liars like Boris, Farage and the ERG.

You have a short memory, it was the EU Central Bank, among others, who helped bail out Cyprus when it was virtually bankrupt in 2013. Oh, and they bailed out Greece too.

What tosh yakflyer, the EU central bank nor government does not exist.

Any funding form these places is ordained to the mere normals by creating the finds that the normals then have to pay for. the fractional system is broken, Fiat is failed yet everyone is expected to put out the hand and feel gratuity for the theft bestowed upon them.

UK didnt leave the EU, that was a political manoeuvre to satisfy a disillusioned populous. Still way tyoo much EU medling and acceptance of the meddling.
