Once again , I have had a a few requests for the limasoll wine festival this year so I have contacted the CTO and managed to get us another free bus for this year.. Details: Bus leaves the CTO office at 6.15pm on Sunday the 10th of sept drops us off at wine festival in limasoll , then collects us at 11.00pm to return us to paphos .. entrance is €.5.00 this will get you a free bottle of wine from one of the stalls inside.. its a great night out , I would suggest that you dont eat before you go as the place is full of taverna type eating places and great for a meal out.. I will need details of everyone who wishes to have a seat on the bus, please post the names below and I will add them to the list.. Neil Hart Oxanna Hart Margaret Gibbs Barrie Gibbs. Changed this year it's now 5euro was six but no free bottle of wine....You can get your plastic bottles filled so if you have any old ones from past visits in your cupboards give them a rinse and bring them along....Still great value if you do a lot of free testing like Niel and I do xxx Put me down but don't need the bus and probably won't be the first visit of the year ... |

Not quite accurate, allapaul. Entrance costs €5 per person. The entry ticket itself entitles you to 20% off any 1 bottle of wine from any of the Sodap, Etko, Keo or Loel stands. If you don't buy a plastic carafe, you won't have the receipt that entitles you to have it filled with the wine of your choice from the non-branded stands. You can take your glasses from previous years (if you have any, that is) and use them for tasting, both at the non-branded stands and at the branded stands. Alternatively, you can buy either tumblers or wine glasses to use there and to take home as a souvenir. If I recall correctly (I've slept since we went this year  ), we paid €2.50 per glass and another €2.50 per carafe.Not each of the non-branded stands had all 4 wines available, so check them all out if you can't find what you like. If you find the dry red too dry, and the Kokkinelli too sweet, why not try mixing them? We enjoyed the wines at the Koilani Winery stand, and I thought the chicken souvla was tasty, succulent and particularly good value at only €8. |
