I have gotten an email from a lady
who has a friend in a situation ...
maybe someone will know a charity that can help her ??

Copy posted below ..

Hi I wonder if you can help me - I have a friend living in Paphos with her
father who has dementia and who is 87, Lindsey my friend has been in
hospital in Nicosia since May last year after breaking her legs - she is
back home with her father in Paphos and is struggling as she is bedridden,
has a nurse going in to help her in the morning and a nurse in the evening!
Are there any charitable organisations out there who could help her and her
father - this is a desperate situation as she is living with her father but
he has only got his pension - Lindsay doesn't have any money at all. This
is a nightmare for her, I have contacted Citizens Advice here but because
she has been out of the country for quite a few years she can't get help in
the UK or housing for at least 2 years - this is absolutely diabolical I
know as she is a British person. Is there any way you can help me
please!!!!! My e-mail address is (removed) - just hope
you can help!!! Thank you

There is a dementia/altzimeirs group that meet at the Archangel Michael Hospice that maybe able to help, in fact the Hospice itself maybe able to (but not certain). If on Facebook contact a lady called Rionagh Walker, this is the only contact I have Im afraid.

If the father is 'ex-service' the lady could ask the British Legion for assistance or S.A.A.F.A http://www.ssafa-cyprus.org/

The Archangel Michael Hospice may well be able to help. The person to contact is the General Manager, Mona tel 99494140. They have given respite care in the past to people with this gents condition and importantly, it is free.
Best wishes
Geoff, Manager
St Michael's Charity Shop, Polemi.
