Does anyone know if it's possible to buy in Cyprus a clear sealant for ceramic tiles that also provides a non-slip, non-gloss, surface? I need to treat my patio / pool area, but don't want to go to vast expense!
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

We provide antiSIP treatments: http://mysafepool.com.cy/?page_id=104, which works well on most ceramic and patio tiles. We've recently treated the entrances to six BoC entrances in Limassol.

Thanks for your response Yakflyer. Can you tell me if your anti-slip treatment also seals the tiles and grouting to prevent rainwater ingress, and whether it is a treatment that I can apply myself.

My builder applied sealant with antislip on my newly tiled shower floor. The tiles I wanted weren't nonslip but with a treatment they are now fine. No idea if this works outdoors, but he bought it fem diy shop and mixed with sealant. I believe it's a very fine type of grit/sand.

This is a very old thread, but while researching methods of dealing with slippery showers I came across it, and thought members might be interested in the solution I found by accident.

Buy a pair of Crocs from Sports Direct and wear them in the shower. They grip well and don't slip on soapy shower bases. Having had two falls in the shower that could have been a whole lot worse, and getting no younger, I am pleased that danger from slippage is now passed. The only down side is that you have to wash your feet separately, but that's a small price to pay for a large increase in safety.

I have a pair of these rubbery shoes which I bought for when washing the car and patio areas. I found their value for shower security when, after washing the car and the shoes were covered in dust, I lazily kept them on while I showered and was delighted with the results. If you have a pair and a slippery shower - try it :)

Similarly, when wearing crocs on wet tiles outside its like a skating rink..... you should pad your butt.
