Have met a few people this month trying to recruit me to the local LR Cosmetics scheme suggesting to coincide with the recession hitting hard it has perhaps hit the local area quiet recently ... anyone have thoughts on these pay-to-earn scams/schemes ? Seems to me once market saturation is reached and no new people want to get onboard then the whole thing will stagnate and eventually collapse. http://www.beastarwithus.com/en

Looks like a pyramid in different clothing to me to be honest ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-level_marketing

OOPS .. I read that URL as, beast ar with us ..

Avon done it very well , Mary Kay also had success with it .
As someone who works in cosmetics , it would not be right for me to comment
on other brands ..

We had some people at our office the other day trying to sell us an essentail oil for 15 euros
I saw the same thing on Karen & Owens stall at the market for 2.00euros ..

Its not the brand specifically that matters though but it appears this scheme relies on YOU buying to keep the commission flowing 'up' from you, and you signing new people on to keep their commission flowing 'into' you. If you don't sign enough new people up you won't break even ...

Anyway, anyone that gets their heads turned .... do the math before spending anything ;)

being a well travelled man of the world and someone who has had his
fingers in many pies during his life (its how you learn business)
I have also ventured into MLM in the past , my advise would be to steer well clear of anything MLM
(MULTI LEVEL MARKETING) If it worked , I would still be doing it ..
I had a spell doing Amway in the past , I have looked at forever living products ,
the only way you make money is by spending ...
not a good idea ..

Pyramid selling is definately illegal in the UK. Golden Wonder Products was set up by a chap who lived near to me and was one of the main reasons for it being outlawed in the UK.

Unfortunately MLM is the new name for similar schemes (Amway, Herbalife etc.) but they continue to get around the basic laws by calling the rip off by another name.....timeshare and shared holiday ownership springs to mind
