The managers may not be able to say anything with the fear or being fined by the FA but us fans should start saying things to the FA :!:

As for the ref at the TOON v Wigan match yesterday, he couldn't have made more mistakes if he tried

The most important one being the so-called Heskey penalty

What is the use of having lines men if when they raise their flags, the ref should stop play is it not.. well not in this case, the ref just let play continue even tho Heskey was off side in the replays & if he didn't raise the flag for that reason, then the ref should have stopped play for the foul Bassong did on Heskey outside the box.. not wait until Heskey decided to dive in the box, get Bassong sent off & get a penalty

Then in extra time, the ref decided to give yound Carrol a yellow card for diving in the penalty box even tho he was clattered from behind.. was he actually reffing our match or one behind his eyelids

It was the worse officaiting I've ever seen in the EPL.. something needs to be done about these pathetic decisions, as its ruining our footballing

They are not linesmen anymore, they are assistants to the referee.
As assistants the referee instructs them as to what he wants them to do.
Even when they raise their flag the referee does not have to accept their decision if he thinks he saw the incident and can make the decision by himself.

Usually, when the assistants are qualified referees in their own right, the man in the middle will accept their help within the guidelines he has given them.
Some assistants are prima donnas and try to influence every decision. Some very good referees do not make good assistants. It is quite a different job running up and down the line, keeping an eye open for offside, fouls and the ball going out of play.

Having said all that, I agree that there was some very poor refereeing in a lot of the games on Boxing day.

Well it seems the FA do have double standards after all... not too long ago, Joe Kinnear was fined & sent to the stands for having a go at a referee but just this week, Harry Redknapp lambasted a ref & the FA did nowt

Why is it that some can get away with calling ref useless but others are reprimanded for speaking out :?

Double Standards, it stinks :tickedoff

I watched my beloved Stoke vs Fracchise USA on MOTD on boxing day

Mr rooney had his arm round Faye's neck, then tried to elbow him, then had a verbal outburst which even someone who can't lip read would be embarrassed about - all this in front of the 'linesman'
Not even a 'talking to'

Mr ronaldo (you know, the diving cheating Portugese one) kicked out at Wilkinson, in front of the ref
Again no reprimand

Wilkinson stupidly fouled him back and was deservedly booked - 2nd yellow = red :-(

Up to the sending off we were 'holding our own' - then we lost!

Double standards indeed

JB mate, I may support the TOON & have done for 16yrs now but I was born & bred in Stoke, so hope they do well in the EPL this season & yes I agree, the ref & assistants in your mathc with Manc USA were worse than the one in our match v Wigan....

The FA need to start looking at these decisions being made & sort them out properly :x
