Hi Gary,

There is a bus that goes to the market area a few times a day - Monday to Friday.

There are two tavernas shortly to be joined by a third, which is rumoured to be an Anglo/Cypriot colaboration. There are also two mini markets and a fruit market on the edge of the village.

Hope that answers your questions.

My next door neighbour has just bought a new apartment ground floor in Mandria (Aristo) we went to have a look at it I thought Mandria was really nice..... but you need a car.
Mandria was originally an old Turkish Cypriot village surrounded by agriculture and fruit trees so it still has that unspoilt feel to it.... for how long who knows, plenty of buiding work going on at the moment.

I :agree with Tricia what I found lacking was landscaping around the builds, they seem to be doing the min these days all concrete and no trees.

What a difference a few fruit trees make and a nice border of flowers.

Jan :)

Chas,
Cos Mrs DP don't drive. W e have looked at Universal but at the mo it's not pretty on the eye. We have seen a property in Mandria that we are interested in.
While I am more than happy to be a chauffer, Mrs DP likes her independence so a bus service would be vital.
I'll leave it at that for now.We always preferred to be West side of Paphos and this is the area we have looked into so we know nowt about Mandria. Thanks Nicky for that info and any advice would be welcome.
Gary

dp, i've lived there since last august, it really is a nice village, the people are very friendly, and the tavernas are nice,
quite often, if anybody's going to town, and see people at the bus stop, more often than not, they'll stop and give them a lift

whereabouts are you looking, dnp, zephuros, 1,2,3,4,? if you want you can pm me

chas

Gary I would think very carefully about Mandria ( nice place ) not being on a "bus " route as such-- like me your good lady doesn't drive. I live towards the Akamas and only have a bus to CBay then have to change if i want to go to town. My chauffeur is very good mind you --cos that's what you will become-- If I could up my house to near town I would. Marj
