Have you checked your time zone settings in your profile?

It seems to depend on whether you are logged in or just visiting.
If you are logged in the time seems to be correct, if you are visiting the time seems to be an hour fast.
Don't know why, but this doesn't seem to happen on the dark side!

Are we talking about the time shown at the top of each page

or

The time it shows you have posted?

OH and why does it matter if it doesn't happen anywhere else?

But it's always been like this from my point of view and I just live with it!

Might be worth checking your 'device' time zone as Band has already said

Checked my time zone and it is correct (UTC + 2 Athens, Bucharest) but the site clock when I visit without logging in is still an hour fast!
But never mind, it's been like that ever since I have been a member and I live with it. I don't have time problems with any other site so perhaps it's just a PP quirk?

In Windows Time applet you could adjust time manually anytime. If you are familiar with Registry you could install the auto adjustment to 1 hour interval if your computer internal clock is drifting too much.

Peculiar thing I've just noticed!
As a visitor to the site, the clock on the home page is correct, but when I go into Forum the clock is an hour fast!
Same thing happens on both my computers, and both are correctly set for time zone, so it must be a PP quirk!

Have also checked this anomaly and the forum page is definitely an hour fast, whether I'm logged in or not. My device is set to the correct time. I would take a screen shot to prove it, but unfortunately I haven't got photo editing software to reduce the size of the picture sufficiently to post.

Mine has always been an hour out too.
It's currently ten past ten in the UK so ten past 12 Cyprus.

Mine is spot on no problemito. Ha ha I am in Chlorake and all OK apart from a little drizzle out side.

OOPS it has shown as 1406 and it is only 1306 hrs. I just checked and am set for PLUS 2 HRS.

That's exactly it Shania, I posted an hour ago at ten past 12 Cyprus time, 10:10 on my UK phone but it shows up at 1:12!

Tried it but still the same problem. As soon as I log out the Forum time clock jumps forward 1 hour.

I've checked everything except the F5 refresh which I'm guessing has to be done on a laptop, unless anyone knows how to do it on an iPhone 6.

Not sure about iPhone but on the iPad refresh is the round arrow on the right of the address bar at the top. And I have same prob, but tried the work around and it doesn't. (Work around that is)

two possible solutions:
- correct the phpBB time zone as UTC+2
- turn off DST on the site's settings

My Firefox/WinXP set to UTC+2 and autoupdate date/time by NTP each hour.

Yes! Turning the DST from yes to no sorts it out but what will happen when the clocks change?......

it's a temporary solution
need to find a reason for current issue

MAD, you didn't turn OFF DST setting on the site - all posts marked by timestamp+1h; also you can see on all pages "[DST]" mark.
That's the culprit !

Don't tell me tell Neil...it's his site On my pc it's All times are UTC + 2 hours Quote "also you can see on all pages "[DST]" mark."
Please tell me EXACTLY WHERE you are seeing this...maybe a map would help

My DST is set to no in the user CP
My time settings are UK

Log in go to control panel at top right of page.
Select Board Prefreneces.
Change summer time/DST to NO
And both clocks will match up.

On the user control panel (board preferences) if I set timezone to UTC+2 everything on the forum is 1 hour fast. Cyprus local time being UTC+2 in the winter.
So I just have it set at UTC+1 and all is OK.

Unfortunately Dave I think you are entirely wrong, since this time clock issue only seems to happen on PP. It doesn't seem to happen with any other website or BB system that I use. Too many people are having the same problem for it to be at the user end.

MAD, it's time to make PP phpBB@Forum Software work correctly with time settings.
I did post snapshot to prove, would be nice if you'll do same.
Just in case: my laptop os running WinXP Pro SP3 and FF 4.0

I gave just done what Paul recommended, set DST in my profile to 'NO' and times are now correct.

Seems to me the board's SW cannot correctly use DST flag - it's pass such control to MEMBERS.

You MUST turn it ON/OFF MANUALLY in UserCP when the summer time is set/reset.

Timezone to use for displaying times to users who are not logged in (guests, bots). is UTC + 2
Logged in users set their timezone during registration and can change it in their user control panel.

I think a fundamental point, which I have highlighted before, is being missed!
Yes if you are logged in and have set your timezone criteria correctly, the site clocks display the correct time. If, however, you are a guest visitor and are not logged in, the site clock is (and always has been) an hour fast. Peculiar, but does it really matter?
