Would you please mind giving me an indication of your monthly outgoings?
Nothing too specific, just so I can get an up to date guide to the current cost of certain things (It's four years since we were last in Cyprus).

For instance:
Electricity (I know this was our main expense)
Telephone line with 24/7 broadband
Comm/Coun tax (for one of the villages, say Kissonerga/Peyia)
Water
Car Ins/Tax (one small car/one 4x4)
Med Ins (Two adults, no children. Late 40's)

I have done searches but can't find anything specific without trawling through lots of posts - I know someone was keeping a spreadsheet, but can't find it! :? Thanks in advance.

Hard to quantify really because everyone is different, but for us its along these lines:

telephone - running about €80 - €100 a month because we make lots of calls to the uk
Broadband - €42-75 from Holitec as we can't get Cyta BB here in our village
Council Tax - €160 for the year
Water - about €40-€50 for 6 months
Car Insurance - about €320 for a Freelander 4x4
Electricity - very hard to quantify because we have had loads of people staying and they used prodigous amounts of aircon, but anywhere between €200 and €500 per two months - remember electricity has gone up 20% in the last year
Medical Insurance - no idea as we don't have it
Food and household stuff - €stupid - we average around €80 - €120 a week plus pet food from Youkays

hope that helps

chris

Hello Chris, thank you that is very helpful.

The water and council tax are cheaper than I remember (and a lot cheaper than UK) although the broadband and car insurance are more than I expected. I currently pay £75 a month for my landline phone - this includes Sky TV (full package), line rental, all calls and broadband 24/7. We have a Freelander - fully comp with Direct Line which is £25 per month.

The electricity costs are as expected.

So generally speaking I am budgeting correctly!
Thanks again :)
