Just wondered if anyone can give me information to pass on to a friend who is planning to come to Cyprus to live, specifically for Type 1 diabetes, and is retired and so eligible for state health care.

I understand there is a diabetic support group in Paphos which meets in Kato Paphos and have been told there is a place near to Carrefour where you can get accessories such as an insulin pump.

Is it still the case at the general hospital that you do not get enough strips to test glucose and so have to buy them privately. Are prescriptions for items such as insulin, statins etc available by prescription there?

All information appreciated - thank you
