The village is Prastion/Avdimou.
Yesterday by early evening our nephews 2 doggies were poisoned.
The old people who care for the dogs during the week have them in the garden. There is a big stable with the places for the night and a fenced run area, they have chicken and cats.
Aris, the male dog was feed up with milk every 2 hours day and night 2 years ago, cause he was seperated from his mum much too early.
Now he died a wretched death 7pm 4 days before Christmas.
We could rescue the female dog at the last second.
Have you ever seen the pain, the shivering, the cramps, the expression in the eyes of such a helpless creature in deadly terror?
Why the innocent animals had to suffer?
Did anybody feel aggrieved? Did they bark at night?
If yes, nobody of the neighbourhood had the balls to talk to the old man (whom they all know tens of years).
Nobody came and said: ''Kostas, the dogs bother me, do something.''
Instead of talking together, someone creeped into the road, which is dark on a winter evening, threw poison into the garden of theold people or gave some Euros to somebody to do it.
My hubby saw Aris dying distorted with pain.
For what???
The mentality not talking about things face to face and acting caitiffly from behind frazzles me out.
The old people are tuckered out, we all are.
Is this the way of village life?
Police in Avdimou?
They do nothing!
It's horrible to know that the coward will sit in the kafenion again, maybe with the old man, feigning ignorance.
He will also go to church on Christmas quite without shame and cross himself, while for my nephews family Christmas is over.
My Christmas wish is, that this and all the other cowards have to suffer like the poor doggies did.

Aris, we won't forget you.

Aries was burried today.
In the afternoon the police came to the house. they had ''decided'', to press charges against an unknown person yet again.
Too late.

thank you.

It's so sad, that the old people now don't trust anybody in the old established neighbouhood anymore.
There are hints that it must have been someone fom the immediate vicinity.
On sunday all of them will come to say a Merry Christmas..........
