Post subject:  David Davis on Sky ...

Appearing on Sky News' Murnaghan programme to discuss the possibility of Scotland remaining in the EU while the rest of the United Kingdom leaves, Davis told viewers that "one of our really challenging issues . . . will be the internal border we have with southern Ireland".

A good point. Indeed; negotiating the border of Northern Ireland will be a challenge, especially given the progress that has been made with–

Wait, what? "Internal border"?

Davis goes on: "we are not going to go about creating other internal borders inside the United Kingdom"

Isn't there a Common Travel Area betwixt the UK and Ireland...? You know, an outside-of-the-EU thing...?

I have a feeling that if you had been given Davis' job there wouldnt be so many gaffes. You wouldn't have called it an internal border, you would have been precise. And called it an external border, and made reference to the Common Travel Area which we hope to maintain post Brexit.

You'd have made a great Minister for Brexit, but not half as funny as Davis. He's all fur coat and no knickers and that's why we love him :-)
