Does anyone have any recommendations for a solicitor or conveyancer to deal with the sale of a house?
Would they deal for both side (Chinese wall style) or do we both need a separate one?

Thanks

John if your selling with titles and its a straightforward transfer then a solicitor is simply not needed. For issues such as yours I use Maria Kyriakidou who does it all. If both parties are happy she will represent both parties. 99666980 mail [email protected] or if you're unsure call me on 99716390

Brought our villa before Cyprus joined the EU so don't know if things have changed. We bought a re-sale from another Expat. Used our UK solicitors to managed the money transfer in Sterling thus avoiding exchange rates. Outside of the Land Registry Office (LRO) sit Conveyancing clerks, former LRO employees. You engage one of them, was about £cy 50.00 then. They take the vendors title deeds into the office. After a short while they take you both in to an office to sign the transfer of title deeds, vendee receives a receipt, and to handover the cash/cheque to pay the tax. Vendor phoned his UK solicitor to released the money to the vendee. Deal is done.

About a year later the vendee receives the formal title deed documents.

No solicitor, Developer or estate agent to cheat you. Only the local Land Registry Office involved. I have been told that some LRO's now demand a solicitors contract of sale some don't. The Conveyancing Clerks can advise. Good luck.
