8. Description of Attraction:
Completed in 1966 this earthfill dam is built in the path of the seasonal river Mavrokolympos. From reservoir floor to top of build it is 45m high and when full has a capacity of 2180 MCM. I understand this water is used for local agriculture only. Reservoir currently pretty empty but reported to be of interest to anglers and birdwatchers alike. Park near the dam face and take a stroll around, watch out for the dried reservoir bed which may appear dry, could be a dry crust on deep wet mud.

10. Additional information:
A good but energetic pushbike ride is shown on blue on the map which is a fraction under 18km round trip. Approximately 60% of the ride is on tarmac, the rest on off road tracks mostly suitable to cars if careful. The "interesting" Adonis Baths are also situated right at the beginning of the river 5km from the dam wall.

11. Directions to location:
On the main Paphos to Peyia road follow the sign to turn right as you pass by Potima.
