Hi,

We are hoping to move over to Cyprus soon. All we need to do is sell the house (and almost everything in it, which we are well under way with now). We will be renting furnished when we get there, so we will be bringing over only personal items. It's been on the market a few weeks now, and we've had a few viewings, so it's early days, but anything we can do to speed this up we will try.

Was thinking we could advertise over there, for anyone wanting to move back to the UK. Anyone know if this has been done successfully or not?

When my friend sold his house, he got a valuation from an estate agent. Then checked online where it stood compared to all other houses in the area. He then dropped his price £20000.
He sold in 3 days.

Depends whether you need the higher value though!!

We have a property in Cyprus that we would consider exchanging for one in the UK. Depends on where it is and the valuation. PM me if you are interested.Mine is a 2 bed apartment with sea views, covered parking and most importantly has full title deeds.
It is in a small complex of 18 properties with communal pool. Fully furnished and equipped for moving straight into.

Thanks Beverley, but we are wanting to rent, not own a house in Cyprus.

Nev, we are priced competitively, compared to others in the area. Not sure we could stand a £20000 drop!!

I had my house on the market in UK for over 18 months. I dropped at least twice to no avail.
Decided to stay put and just have a lot of holidays. Mostly in Cyprus!!

We've just accepted £18,000 less than the house was valued just so we could sell. We had 20 viewers and it was on the market for 9 weeks. None of the offers we had we near the asking price. Depending where you are in the UK will depend on how much people will offer you for your house. All the programmes are saying house prices are going up, they are in London and surrounding areas but not in the North I'm afraid, and the demographic in our area still want a bargain!!
