Hi, my dad is 75yrs, will be coming to Cyprus for 2 months....he wants to hire a car but was mentioning he read on Internet that he may find difficult for a hire company to give him a car and that he has to change his driving license to a Cypriot one.......is this correct?

I can recommend George & Kula at Easy rent a car Paphos, send them a e-mail or phone for information, I know they 'rent to over 72's' :-

He won't need a Cypriot driving licence as long as he has a current UK one in the plastic card and counterpart format.

Malsue - you mentioned www.easyrentacarltd.com . I have just received a quote from them and against 5 other companies that I have used on previous visits they are the cheapest and appear to have all the insurance that I normally expect CDW, WUG etc. Does anyone else have experience of this firm please? Thanks. Ian

Morning Ian.

We used George & Kula many times when we were holidaying/building over here. We now recommend them to our tourists and house guests because the price they quote is all inclusive and the car is always a reasonable one. It's always left at the airport where George says it will be left, they don't seem to want a deposit up-front, and they're fairly laid-back about when you go in to complete the paperwork, i.e. you don't have to rush there the minute you arrive

I (and many others) are very happy with the service provided by George and Kula at Easyrent.

George and Kula are very reliable we use them every time. Give them a ring they speak excellent English and if they can't rent to someone over 75 they will let you know who will
