Good luck Milly. Glad things are coming together now.
We know the feeling well of being both elated and scared at the same time regarding your job.
Having been through the loop fairly recently ourselves rest assured that when you finally get here it will all have been worthwhile.
Tell the other half the hernia op is a doddle!!! Just had my second one done. First in UK 30 years ago this one here in Cyprus last month. He'll be just fine.
I think I did mine lifting all the boxes and furniture in the move..... so be carefull.....
One again good luck.

Hi all

Tomorrow is my last day at work! I finish at 12.00 and it's a bit of a scary thought being unemployed! Monday OH has his op so I will be doing all the sorting and packing :( Not as bad as it sounds cos we are in a rented house at the mo and most of the stuff has been packed already. On the 20th Nov we move in with our sons for a week, on the 29th we take the old car to the scrapyard  and on Sunday 30th November, 2008 at exactly 9.00am the dream becomes reality and we fly out to our new home and new life in Cyprus

Cheer

Milly

Well we finally made it as planned, my OH had his hernia op which then got infected so it was looking a bit doubtful whether we would be flying on 29th November, but luckily he healed quickly. We arrived with flu and spent the first day looking for a doctor and getting antibiotics. The second day OH was in hospital with a recurrence of an irregular heartbeat which he had had once before, luckily they found nothing serious and stabilised his heart and sent him home with betablockers. We enjoyed the lovely weather for the first couple of weeks, our goods arrived as planned and we are getting straight. Apart from missing our sons we are really pleased to be here even through the storms, my goodness it does get chilly especially at night! We have a gas fire and an electric radiator, but drying washing and the towels in the bathroom is fairly impossible. Anyway we are looking forward to the better weather in the spring.

Cheers

Milly

Well, we have been here six weeks now, and yes, I did miss my sons a lot at Christmas, and was glad when it was over, but other than things being rather more expensive than we had planned for, obviously because of the exchange rate and low interest rates, everything has been great, no regrets.

Cheers

Milly
