The deputy ministry of innovation announced on Tuesday that only one user will be able to access the vaccination portal per person, following technical issues with the platform due to high traffic.

In a written announcement explaining changes in the booking process for vaccination appointments, the deputy ministry of research, innovation and digital policy said only the beneficiaries themselves or another person entrusted with their personal data will be allowed on the portal.

The changes will be enforced from Wednesday pending the reopening of the vaccination portal the following day for 35 and 36-year-olds.

The portal will provide users two options — personal appointment arrangement or the arrangement through a representative.

The assignment of a representative will be carried out by the representatives themselves through the vaccination portal at any time, before or on the day of the portal opening for the specific age group, the announcement added.

Personal doctors will still be able to arrange appointments for their patients only on a voluntary basis and in cases where patients do not have another representative.

The vaccination portal crashed twice last month with Kokkinos saying this was due to multiple users were trying to book an appointment for the same person.
