A shocking number of new cases and it appears that out of all those that have died recently none have had the vaccine- I wonder why that is?
It does appear that the UK got it right ensuring that as many as possible got the first vaccine and leaving the 2nd for 11-12 weeks later. It was certainly a gamble that seems to have worked. I think Cyprus are using the 12 week gap for AZ but not for Pfizer but the other EU countries are still only using the 3 week gap.

It does seem strange that the people who are dying seem to be in their 70s and 80s and should have had their vaccinations weeks or months ago.

The fact that those who have had the vaccination don't seem to be dying should surely be telling something to a few members of this site.

For you own, and everyone else's sake, get vaccinated as soon as you can.

I am more concerned that

On Wednesday there was a ratio of 1 new positive case to every 118 tested

On Friday it was a ratio of 1 new positive case to every 83 tested

A huge jump in a short time even taking into account approximately 7,800 extra tests were carried out on Friday - it will be interesting to see which way the figures trend over the next week or so.
