am sure there must be some issues somewhere but i am yet to see them

i understand that when Cyprus went through the financial meltdown stuff over the last couple of years they got rid of the exposure to Greek banks - and so far despite my initial worries i am pleased to have seen nothing to make me continue to worry - i do of course limit my exposure to anything happening to my funds here by keeping my funds low and transferring only when i need it

Some may even have links to Greece but I havent seen any bank closures or withdrawal transaction limits - so far.

The banks here are all overseen by the Cypriot banking system and are, therefore, not involved with the current Greek tragedy, and you don't need to worry. As I see it, the only real problem for Cyprus (other than difficulties for individual companies that trade with Greece) is a loss of tourism if Greece comes out of the euro. Greece will be cheaper for tourists if that happens and people are likely to go there instead of Cyprus.

I suspect that if there is a Grexit, we will see a huge influx of Greeks into Cyprus to live. There has already been a 50% increase in passport applications, and the long queues for passports are unprecedented.
