A bomb has exploded in a Cyprus village, destroying the front of a shop and causing damage to nearby houses and cars.

No one was hurt in the blast which rocked a small woodwork factory in Kissonergia in Paphos in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The explosion destroyed the entrance to of the shop, which is owned by two brothers from nearby Panayia.

Windows of the factory and nearby houses were blown out by the force of the blast, as was a car windscreen.

The bomb exploded only 20 metres from the Kissonergia community council offices.

Explosion Suspect Arrested

A 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an explosion in Kissonerga which occurred late Sunday night.

The blast occurred in a carpentry unit. Nobody was hurt but hundreds of thousands of euros of damage were used and residents were badly shaken by the incident.
