Some parents just do not think before they name their offspring....

I was at school with a girl whose parents wanted to call her Victoria - until they matched it with their surname Dean, initials would have been VD.....

When I worked in the Inland Revenue (for my sins) - my first full time job after leaving school many years ago the office I worked in used to deal with British Rail pensioners' tax records. Each person had an A4 file and all were filed in alphabetical order.

Three of the names of the pensioners still jump to mind in conversations such as this:
Henry Glasscock - someone wrote "handle with care" on his file cover, Albert Veryard - they didn't dare write anything on that file cover and Orson Cart - what were his parents thinking of?

More recently a baby was named Lily (a lovely name) but not when the surname is White. :doh

I went to school with a Rosemary (Rosie) Bottom, who lived in Fanny Hands Lane. Great Humour!!

An old client called Willie Whyte Brown and his wife was Pearl Rose. It was always funny calling from the office and asking,' Is that Wullie Whyte Brown' it would have us in stitches.
