I thought it best to start a new thread specifically about this, to explain how we’re hoping it will work!

You’ll find the new section on the main site here:

http://www.paphospeople.com/paphos_villages.html

Each village location has it’s own dedicated page, which can be accessed either by clicking on the relevant part of the map, or selecting from the list just below it. Each page just has the basic layout and contact info for the moment, and this is where you all come in – we’re hoping that our most excellent members (blatant crawling technique deployed… ) won’t mind taking a few minutes to pull together some information about their village, or other locations they know about, and fire it in a quick email to me at [email protected]. This can be information, recommendations, pictures, anything – the pages will take shape along the lines of whatever we get sent basically!

The overall aim is to provide a packed information resource which will be really useful for people new to a place, looking for places to move to, go for a holiday or whatever really – there’s quite a lot of Paphos info out there, but not an awful lot about specific locations, and we’re hoping this will become a really useful and unique resource.

Over to you….

I dont think they have held elections, to divide up the region..
There was a rumor that the commoners from lower Peyia were going to hold protest
rallies. :smilielol

Well done. You've missed us :tickedoff

Anavargos - I thought would be reasonably important it's where the General Hospital and we have the new big post office.

I should've probably pointed out that this wasn't just based on an arbitrary selection of places chosen by us, but I used the list of Mouchtaris as provided by Neil, so if a place is missing it is most likely either because it technically falls under the jurisdiction of another location (like Coral Bay, which you may expect to see on there, being part of Peyia Municipality for instance) or Neil's list was wrong....

Happy enough to add others on if there's sufficient call to do so however.

I would say Neil list is wrong. :handbags
I also thought that Coral Bay should be separate village/area. As you turn left to Coral Bay and you turn right to Peyia. There are loads of restaurant and place of interest etc each of the places, so I would of thought those would be separate.

I don't mind Anavargos not been listed as it's a really small village and there's not a lot in it. Just thinking of the case when someone states the General Hospital is Anavargos and new people go where's that and it's not on the list/map

Is Paphos and Polis not on there? Is it because they aren't villages?

I think you missed my point Yvonne. The problem is there no where for me to put my amazing inside information as Anavargos doesn't exist according to "the list"

That one is on there - look under "Y"! The initial list I got was translated from Greek, so some of the alphabetical order was a little awry after translation, but I think I've got most of it right now (famous last words!)

I'll have to have a think about what best to do for the Central Paphos areas - might be worthy of a section of their own...

If there are any others missing that you would like to see there, then do shout up (especially if you're prepared to help us fill them!) and I can add them on.

Thanks to those who've sent stuff through already! :clap
