Paphos People

A few of us went out last night to celebrate my
birthday\annaversary and decided to give the currys
a try at Nemos,
Well I have to say it was one of the best currys I have ever tasted
in my life..
The run up with the popadoms and the dips , then a fine selection of starters
followed by a never ending flow of currys and rice until you exploded ..
A big congrats to Gary and sharon for a fantastic night..
Good food, good service at a great price ..
I will be back on many ocassions ..

Must agree with you there Neil, being a Birmingham girl and being bought up on wonderful currys from Sparkbrrok/Stratford Rd Indian restaurants I have been dying for a "proper" curry since Ive been here. Tried various places but no taste, bland or just not right, think they just chuck chili in em here!!. Well I go to Nemos a lot and after talking to Gary decided to try on the other week when a few of us went down, and I was very impressed. Its the nearest Ive got to a Bham Balti here, but its got its own unique wonderful taste, you can actually taste the different spices in it. And his spicey rice is lovely & I dont usually like rice with curries. Plus you do get loads was stuffed by the time Id eaten it was reluctant to leave any far toooooo nice.
Thats making me want to go down again for another one!!!!! yummy........

Where: Nemos Fish & Chips (they by the way are also the BEST F&C in Pafos) end of Bar street just inside small road past Keg & Barrel

Price: €15 for Pompadums & Dips
Choice of about 3/4 Starters
Choice 3 main course
Choice 2 Types Rice
And the wonderful Naan bread - 3 choices
So its pretty good value for money as well plus you do get lots!!
Gary does recommend that you book on a Fri nite as it does get busy in there, and nothing is pre-cooked its all cooked fresh when you place your order
Perhaps we should have a PP evening there................

We went to Nemos early feb for a birthday do for Suzie the fluzie.About 16 in our party and there was also another large party in at same time.Some had the indian food and peasants like me had normal food.
Gary was run off his feet,because everything is cooked fresh not the warmed up stuff,and also it was his first night.
A great time was had by all.The food was excellent.Well done Gary,keep it up.

Do Nemos have Chicken Jalfrezi on their menu please?

Good to hear such glowing recommendations, if i remember correctly the chap in question was running the Tikka place near the market yeah ? That was also raved about but probably a victim of a bit of a bum location ! Anyway, might have to sample that €15 meal at some point soon.

oh, wonderful!! Tikka used to be the only place where you could get a really good curry, and I was really disappointed when Gary closed. Now I've got somewhere to have a curry on my night off, hurrah!

Neil I was going to ring you for those leftovers this morning, did you have it for breakfast It was truly tremendous and such good value for money.

Shell, I think Gary will do another dish of your choice if you give him notice, just ask he can only say no.

yes , but I never bothered with the rice ,, I just scooped it into that nam bread
rolled it up and ate it ...

Funny you should ask about chips paul ..
as its the only place I know where you can get chips with your curry ..

Apart from that ... my chips and curry sauce are the best at the market ...

I only live two or three minutes from Nemo's - pity I don't like curry

However their fish and chips are superb.

Went to this place for the first time last night (first time for curry anyway, have had pie and chips there plenty times before!) and have to add my appreciation for the excellence of the curry dishes on offer.

The vindaloo in particular is absolutely fantastic!

Went there also a week or so ago primarily because of this thread and thoroughly enjoyed it however it was only my 4th ever curry. If this really is the 'best curry ever' regardless of price i have to be honest i was expecting a lot more from such a popular genre of food.
