Ive been trawling the search facility for ages trying to find the registration process for imported cars.

There was somebody who had placed a post showing the procedure he followed, but I can find it,, any help appreciated please.

So far smoothish enough.............

Went to Road transport dept, staff very helpful, issued a CO2 emmissions certificate no problem and spoke me through the process. Sent me to the Customs dept.

Customs dept AOK, go to the woman (Maria unsurprisingly), she took me through the process, took my money and sent me on my way. Up to the MOT station.

Heres where the bother has started....... The examiner noticed that my engine has a different number to that in the log book, purchase document and initial invoice (shows he is alert). And even though my car has had 3 MOTs in the UK. The UK only checks the plate on the fame and not the actual engine. Running a check with Honda, it appears the engine belongs to a petrol Civic of 1400cc, and mine is a 1700cc diesel engine so theres been a mix up somewhere. If its not sorted then the whole process may have to restart, the car may have to revert to Limassol docs and recommence from scratch. But theyre all trying very hard.

I phoned the supplier in the UK who had given the car to Hearts FC player (Phil stamp -apt name for a donkey) for 2 months as a demonstrator and they cannot even tell me where the number is, just thats its a Diesel. Theyre useless.

So heres hoping that when they reopen after lunch we can find a way round the problem....

It passed the MOT with flying colours, at the one that only does MOTs, just up past Carrefours. However its for the Customs and the Registration place that they need the engine number (to make sure its not a ringer etc). So the MOT place just identifies where on the engine block the number is and then the customs and the regi people will check and recheck it. But best found by the MOT guy before the customs guy takes it from me.
