As a family we are entitled to a benefit from the Cyprus government so we applied before the end of last year and i've been told by this department that to support our application i need to supply my 'residents permit' (the department told my wife this is known as the 'yellow slip') or in Greek it is called Adeia Paramonis. Now i'd already sent the ARC (the 'Alien Registration Certificate' - a small brown cover with white pages and a pink receipt stapled inside) that i've had since i arrived a couple of years ago but, perhaps through my ignorance/lazyness, I didn't ever follow the process through to get any other slip/permit/blah.

So i called the Paphos immigration office today to be told that the ARC i have is longer given out to EU citizens and i`d have to go in there to complete another 'EU form', however i couldn't get a clear explanation over the telephone as to why and what happened to my previous application. I searched through PaphosPeople for migration and came across the follow topic from 10months ago.

Has anyone during the past year had success acquiring this 'yellow slip' and if so how did you do it ?

Cheers in advance for any help

Hi mate

You simply will not get the yellow slip now.

You HAVE to do the new application. All previous applicants who hav'n;t received their yellow slip are in the same boat apparently.

We found this out recently while registering our son's birth.

The new application is by all accounts very simple and you get your Aliens card there and then.

We picked up our application forms from the offices near the old, old, post office opposite M&S in the old town.

If the Mrs hasn't started filling them in yet, i could scan the applications for you.

Simon

This post is a little ambiguous.
It makes it sound as though you don't get a yellow slip anymore

You actually do but if you applied a while back and didn't complete the process you will have to re apply and you will then get your yellow slip.

You do not get an ailiens card any more. coz you aren't an alien. As an EU citizen you can apply for a Cyprus ID card. (with your yellow slip amongst other documents)

We never got a yellow slip. You don't get them any more. You go directly to the EU/Cyprus id cards.

Sorry but yes you do.
It's the PINK slip you no longer get.
The yellow is an A4 sheet issued by the Ministry of Interior. Civil Registry and Immigration Dept. It is called a Certificate of Registration. Form MEU1 It has the EU Flag at the top. It is an EU document.

You Still Need It.

You will be asked to produce it for things like the double taxation agreement, Importing a duty free vehicle and many other things

Ours was issued in July last year.
