Yeah they go up and check the ranges but this was only minutes in circling round, usually up there for a good 20 mins or so

By all accounts the Hellenic bank in Chlorakas was robbed this morning.
Static Police patrol up the Polis Road as well!

Apparently the getaway car was found on the road near the school at the back of Paps and the Famagusta Taverna area! Don't think the robbers have been caught yet though.

Is it just me or are the bank robberies rubbish in this country? I'm sure this is a few in quick succession where they've been caught almost straight away - do they wear masks and carry big bags with "Swag" written on them or something??

Yes Jan, they heard the Sawyer Jewels were kept in the strong room there. They were caught as they took so long in side the bank doing the job for 2 reasons.

Firstly that crabby cashier with the attitude would not communicate with them face to face and insisted in service the Cypriots before the robbers.

And secondly, when the robbers got to the front of the queue she did not believe the robbers could be the Duchess and made them do some startling stunts of human achievement to prove who they were. They failed and by this time the Polizi had got to Paps, caused a bigger delay at that junction than normal and hey presto the robbers were foiled.

Or as Martin says, they were probably just crappy robbers.

Which leaves open the question to Martin......

Martin, just how Would YOU rob a bank and have a perfect getaway?

Jan I think it is in a lot less than a year! Very worrying as the latest ones were caught round the corner from our apartment!!! Was talking to a friend in Cyprus last nght who uses the Laiki bank that was broken into recently and she said she wondered why it was now locked and you had a ring a bell to get in! She was amazed that I knew a lot more about what was happening that she did! She does not have a computer and i keep telling her to get one.

It's obvious isn't it - I would just instigate an interruption in the time-space continuum whereby everyone but me would be rendered into temporary stasis and awake moments later with no recollection of intervening events. Meanwhile, I'm offski with the loot.....

Surprised you needed to ask really.

You mean you'd rob the UKCA club?

Just a joke, honest. Don't shout.
