No it's bloody awful.... IMHO it is only any good during the initial stages when all the dreadful acts are making complete idiots of themselves. Then it's compulsive viewing. :D

I'm with Brian. I love the auditions, definitely compulsive viewing. However, once they've all been chosen, i lose interest rapidly.

Love Strictly tho.

Whether or not you like X-Factor, programs such as this throw up some world class talent that might otherwise not have had the opportunity to flourish. Will Young and Leona Lewis are particular examples that spring to mind.

There's no accounting for public taste, so it is anyone's guess who will win the contest. In my own personal opinion there are two unique talents in this year's contest - or rather there were as Austin went out of the contest last night. I suspect we will see a lot more of him in the future. The other, and the one who the smart money would be on to win, based on uTube viewing figures, is Diana.

The other female vocalists should all have a future in the music industry - the rest are (again my opinion only) also-rans.

From the other similar program (Britain's Got Talent) Andrew Johnstone has recently released a beautiful album, though I am not convinced it is he singing on all the tracks. Another talent from that show, Faryl Smith, also appears as guest singer on one track. Watch out for her album when it appears. Paul Potts, the winner of the previous year's show, has done remarkably well, despite producing a disappointing album, marred by poor diction and lazy production.

So despite the faux animosity between friends Cowell and Walsh and the fact that they appear to use the same script every week, the program does have a certain draw that keeps me watching.

I was sure it was going to be Alexandra but after last night performances, I've got to say that the young Diana is a defo finalist too, so I'll stick with my original guess of Alexandra :D :D

In fact I think all of Cheryl Cole girls will be the last 3   no other real competition for them :D

Hi.

I love the X Factor. I think it'll be either Dianna or Alexandra to win. I'm suprised Danny is still in it, last week I think he played on his loss (wife dying) and they voted him in out of pity. Scott was much better.
I love Cheryl Cole, being a Geordie myself I love to listen to her. Did you hear when she said to Simon 'Brian'. Then there's Simon, I like him too.

Anyway 'little things please little minds' Jill.

Well it'sofficial then, I too am sad, I think this year's X-factor has the best group of contestant I've seen in a very long time. My favourite is Diana, I've become a real groupie and have already downloaded her songs from x factor, her performance of 'Call Me' was just fabulous. Alexandra has an amazing voice and is an all round completed performer and I think she's going to do very well in the future, but I think that Diana will win purely because her voice is quite unique and is very endearing. Alexandra sounds like a lot of artists out there already, so fingers crossed for little Diana.

Cheryl has definitely picked the best 3 girls as all 3 have a lot of talent, I still have no idea why Louis put those 2 girl bands through in the first place as they were poor and I don't think little Eughan will last too much longer as his voice isn't the best but he is SOOOOOOOOOO cute and that accent, I want to adopt him!

Don't even get me started on Rachel Hylton, if she takes another comment "on board" from the judges I think I'll throw something at the TV.

Come on DIANA!!!! :celebrate

Please please please - ANYONE but Diana. That stupid false voice grates me already, stupid weird notes. Aaaaaaaaaaaargh and for crying out loud watch her hands and the same stupid movements she does EVERY week. Totally annoying.

For me its Alexandra all the way - maybe JLS as they are very marketable.

If Diana wins, i will by the cd, attend a concert and see if i can use the cd friskee-esque to remove her head clear from her neck.

Thank you Paphosfan, I thought it was only me! I agree Diana can sing but I think she is trying tooooooo hard to be different and therefore every song she sings is the same, does become rather irritating as well. I really liked Austin and think it is a shame he went but out of the girls that are left I cannot decide between Laura or Alexandra. :?

PS - I'd really love to slap Louis Walsh till my hands bleed :tickedoff

Well looking at the betting odds for this, Diana is a clear favourite. I have been impressed with her so far, but I know what people mean when they say her distinctive voice means she's maybe going to start sounding a bit repetitive.

Others featuring prominently in the betting are Laura, Alexandra, Eoghan (thought he was terrible this week mind) and JLS, who I think are decent and might be worth a sneaky few quid at 10/1.....

Sorry for being the odd one out but I quite like the way she sings, her voice is different, as was Will Young & Shayne Ward, who have both gone on to be very good at what they do, so why should she be any different

I still think Alexandra will win but Diana & Laura will be in the last 3 :D

In my opinion Will Young has got a different sound and his is natural, Diana's seems forced or put on to me. I cannot think of the singer that she seems to be impersonating, I think it is a cross between two of them (if it comes to me I will post here). Each to there own I suppose.

Eureka! This has been bugging me all afternoon as to who she sounds like. To me she sounds like a cross between Skinhead O'Connor, Dolores from the Cranberries with a bit of Colbie Caillat thrown in, oh and with a gobful of Bazooka Joe chewy!! :x Yeah, yeah I know I said she reminded me of two but I've got a vivid imagination!!

Phew, I can sleep well tonight now I've got that off me chest!

Carol, that youtube thingy was funny and more alarmingly to the point very much like her :!:

And here was me thinking I was the only saddo that loves the X Factor :D

Can't believe Austin went over that awful Rachel. I think that Cheryl and Louis might have voted him out because they saw him as greater competition for their acts.

Anyway - Alexandra to win

Diana will have one big hit album and never be heard of again ( you are right Kaz ), she does sound a little like Dolores O'Riordan, not as strong a voice though, God knows how she will tour, her voice is weak although different. Alexandra and Laura, both have naturally strong voices, Lauar's voice is superb.... terrible thing to say, but she's not mega slim and as much as I hate to say it, it could hold her back, certainly after the hype has died down.
Eughan, very weak voice... should be the next voted out after Daniel if it's based on vocals alone and not how sweet they are etc.
Forgot about Rachel, can't stand her, she would be a complete Diva if she made it, good grief, The Spanish girl ....good voice, but poss not as good as the other two girls.

News this am Rachel has sacked Danni from been her mentor, she says that Danni is giving her all the wrong songs, so on Saturday she will make her own choice of song and what she will wear. Not keen on her at all she has a very bad atittude.

It's that time of the week again - who goes tonight?

Surely Daniel is on borrowed time, or will the sympathy vote keep him in a bit longer? Will Rachel struggle without her mentor?? How much longer can Eoghan survive just by "being cute"???

I hope the bottom 2 tonight will be Daniel and Rachel as it should have been them last week. Rachel because of her bad attitude and Daniel because he's only still in because of the sympathy votes.
