Well seeing as some topics are quite intense this morning and Im also busy stuffing my face, I thought I would lighten up the tone by asking

What is your favourite sandwich?

I'm obsessed with food so no doubt I've asked this before but hey, its Thursday and the alternative to being on here is ironing...

I'm just finishing a bacon and mushroom toasted butty(9 out of 10 if I had to give it a mark) but my all time fave has to be Fish Finger Butties, white bread, butter, perhaps a pinch of salt or even a dash of mayo depending on my mood...... ooh heaven - really not calorie conscious but then again am I ever???

I don't really have a favorite because I like so many different kinds, as long as they have no GREEN stuff on them, so I'll go along with the fish fingers on white, with Tommy sauce, mayo & vinagar.. mmmmmmmmm

Not funny Mark.... bored. Im usually at my most amusing when I've nothing better to occupy myself. Doesnt make the ironing pile go down though...ooh I hate it.

Just been to check up on Elvis(pet chameleon) and Myrtle(praying mantis) - she was actually put in there for him to eat but they seem to be quite happy in each others company. Oh I really am bored if Im naming potential food...

Think I better go to the ironing shop before I try to keep you all entertained.

Hiya Carol
Due to you weighing about as much as my left leg you can put more bad stuff on your sandwiches

Power came back on as well as water so I didnt have to look like Leo Sayer or smell like a hobo all day...

By the way what time is the market Sunday? so I can at least attempt to turn up on time - the flesh is willing, the ability to hear an alarm clock weak!

:smilielol :smilielol You are a ray of sunshine julie missed your wit yesterday sunday
is 8.30 til 2.00. I look little but after two kids I do resemble the shape of a candle bulb in a bikini. If i lay on my tummy to sunbathe i'm like a turtle stuck on his back trying to get up again. Back to sandwiches i had a friend who i worked with used to like cheese and jam. Didn't do a lunch share with her

bread - any, cheese - mild cheddar, ham - honey roasted, mayonnaise - any, crisps - any. Maybe "spice it up" by replacing the ham with a well grilled pork sausage and the mayo with some ketchup.

yep - i`m such a neanderthal !

I like fish finger sandwiches too but, if I'm in the mood a brown sauce sarnie or just a crisp sandwich hits the spot also!

Top Tip for all the FF butty lovers -
Carrefour Kids(in blue & green box) has really nice Fish Fingers and there's 15 in a box for when you're feeling exceedingly greedy.

Not that Im a fish finger snob you understand but I do hate those rubbery, grey meated ones - spoils my enjoyment.

Cheese and jam (gotta be lancashire cheese and strawberry jam) on white bread - scrummy

I also love spready cheese (st ivel - stupid cow - etc) and crisps on a white barm cake with butter - for you southerners a barm cake is a bit like a soft roll, but different

I also love egg mayo sandwiches, just had one from crumbs, but my friend Ken puts chopped up pickled onions in his egg may butties, and they are gorgeous.

So I couldn't pick one, so for me it's any one from three. Pete - you sound just like my nephew Chris - as he said to me when I was back in the UK "sorry AJ (aunty Jean) I don't do green".

Jean, your nephew has taste

I also use to like Sugar sandwiches with proper butter, not this fake marg stuff

But I must say, I do like a good crusty begette (sp?) with Tuna Mayo & grated Strong Mature cheese.. mmmmm :D

Ok I'm from the south west.
Hot cornish pasty on chunky white bread with a crisp crust, unsalted lurpak ( I have a discerning palate), brown sauce & chedder cheese.

I can recreate this with the pasties from Olivers deli at Tala.

F&H - sounds like a Wigan butty - a meat and potato pie on a barm cake.

Yet another reason to miss Ken eh Jean? When's he off back to UK?

Hi.

I usually just grab a ham and English mustard sandwich during the day. Tonight I had a sandwich as I couldn't be bothered to cook, I bought kebabs for the kids as I didn't fancy one. I was eating the sandwich and waiting for the comments from him as he thinks that all the English eat.
Any sly comments about sarnies and he would have a fight on his hands about beans......beans, beans, bl**dy beans thats all the Cypriots eat.

Jill.

Only problem there Neil is, yours don't look like that photo   Its like going to MacDonalds or Burger King, the photos aways look 10x better than the product, it shouldn't be allowed imo

I do like a good bacon buttie or burger but the oil/fat content doesn't do my IBS any good  :x

So I'll be sticking with the cold sarnies on offer at the Inside Cafe I'm afraid :( :(
