After fitting a thermal cover to my pool I had a lump of the material left over.
I cut it to the size and shape of the surface of the water in my hot tub.
If I now leave the insulating cover off during the day with the bubble cover in place my hot tub heats up without the use of the heaters.
It got to 42 deg C Yesterday
I then replaced the Insulating cover when the sun goes lower in the sky. The tub only dropped 1 deg over night in comparison to 2 deg without the bubble cover.

Thought this tip might be of use to someone else.

Brian

A 'hot' tub? In Cyprus? Are you out of your mind? ;)
The water in my pool this morning is 32 degrees. A 'cold' tub would be more welcome!

Amanda,

Here's a link to a cheaper alternative for under Cyp£400: http://www.lay-z-buoy.com/layzspa.htm

They're good to the cooler months like Oct/Nov/Dec etc but as KG said, why would you want a 'Hot Tub' in the summer :? :?

You have obviously never relaxed in a hot tub, under the stars, with a glass of champagne then?

A hot tub is just what it says. HOT...

The temperature of the swimming pool is another matter entirely.... A method of keeping it cool would be most welcome.

I can think of few things I would rather do less than sit outdoors in some chemically treated, expensively heated, stale water during a Cyprus summer, at any time of day or night; and none I would rather do less than do the same in winter - but if it floats your boat ...... :?

Actually we keep our hot tub cool in summer and it is wonderful to cool down in when you are hot and sticky!
