Paphos People

Do you remember the summer floods of July 2007. Came across these piccies of Evesham the day of the floods. The river Avon rose 17 metres! Some friends of ours have moved back into their house at the beginning of this week, 51 weeks after they moved out! The water rose to the top stair in their house. We were fortunate but lots weren't.

The photo of the closed bridge with the cars on the right hand side - bear in mind that the cars are on elevated stands on the garage forecourt. The bridge is one of two into Evesham, both of which were closed - the river is supposed to run underneath not on top At normal flow, there is approx a 30-35ft drop from the bridge into the Avon!

I've been up in one of those Yellow Sea Kings many time when I use to do Mountain Rescue in South Wales whilst in the military, awesome piece of kit & the guys do a fantastic job
