My house has been a bit like a youth club (remember those?) since Charlotte started college, with teenagers hanging around and doing what they are so good at - nothing! Anyway over the last few months she has paired up with Josh, a thoroughly nice lad and very good looking too - I have to stop myself from staring at him when he's here Also you can have an adult conversation with him, which makes a refreshing change from the odd grunt or two that was the norm from most of the boys.

Not unusual these days, Josh's parents are divorced and he lives with his mum on the other side of town.

Now, I seem to get told things on 'a need to know basis', when Charlotte thinks I need to know, and she announced a couple of weeks ago that Josh would be taking her to meet his dad. "Where does he live?" I asked, "Near London," came the reply, "Somewhere beginning with B".

Then they announced that they would like to go away on holiday for a week, and Josh would be speaking to his dad to see if he could help. I took my opportunity to ask some questions at that point, after all this is getting quite serious.

It only turns out that Josh's father is a pilot, and he works for a well known commercial airline! (Not Easy Jet I hasten to add!). A Pilot as in Captain, not Co-pilot!

I had better not put too much info on here just in case, but the next time we are flying and the pilot introduces himself I shall be all ears!

But its a scary age for teenagers (especially lassies), I remember what I was like as a teenie and worry for the daughters now!!!!

Pam, just a little useless info for you, co-pilots can also be Captains, depends of the aircraft & journey they fly as a Boeing 747 flying to Australia will have 2 Captains, so they can take turns in flying the long distance, also sometime they might not have a co-pilot spare, so another Captain will step in as co-pilot etc

Just wanted to clear that up just incase we have any pilots on the forum who are captins & co-pilots

Used to be cracking at the flight simulator on my old Playstation, so I reckon flying a jumbo would be a breeze after that.
