I am posting this verbatum on behalf of one of my clients who has to go back to the UK. I will try and post a photo of this lovely dog later when her owner emails me a picture.

'Hello' My name is Dixie!
I am a One year old Springer Spaniel Cross, with a fun loving personality. I have been spayed, chipped and fully vaccinated. I am well behaved as well as house trained and love going for walks in the country. My family is moving away from Cyprus and cannot take me with them. I am looking for a loving home and all I need is a cuddle each day, food to eat and a warm bed at night.

I am great with children!

P.S. I have met Dixie and she is so sweet. She is more springer spaniel than anything else and she is black and white and of medium size. She would make a lovely pet. If I didn't have Kofie then I would certainly take her home.

Tiggy is it the money to ship this dog home that worries them. I could try and raise the money for them to do just this if it helps. Please let me know. I will do anything for a good cause, so let me know and i can try and raise the money of some people so everyone is happy.

The lovely lady that owns Dixie, has just lost her husband. She has another dog that she is taking with her back to the UK and whilst she goes into rented accommodation her sister is having the older dog. Dixie is only 1 year old and is fully vacinated as well as spayed but the owner cannot take both back to farm them out to relatives whilst she finds somewhere tol live. This is not a case of her abandoning her dog.
she was not expecting her loss and now has to make serious choices. She can only take one dog back which her sister can accommodate whilst she looks for suitable accommodation for her and one dog.

This could happen to anyone of us and she desparately hopes she can find a loving home for Dixie.
I hope so too.

If you can help this lovely lady and her georgeous dog please call her.

I fully understand her situation, so if there is anyone who could take her in, even for a few weeks while she finds a new home. I am willing to pay for all food cost & vet bills if any, while she finds her new home. So come on people who live in Cyprus you got nothing to lose have you. PLEASE HELP. I will pay in advance say 200€ for food cost ect ect.

In an ideal world, Dixie is looking for a permanent home although foster home would be good if she couldn't have the former.

I am waiting for a picture of her and if I don't get it soon I will go and take some myself.

Her owner says that if anyone wants to take her on a 'trial' basis and for whatever reason they don't want to keep her then she will take her back and keep trying to re-home her.

I have posted some photos of Dixie and we would love to hear that she has been rehomed. Please look at them and see if you can offer her a loving home.

Her owner says that if you want to try her out and for whatever reason need to give her back then that is ok she will just keep trying to find her a loving home.

I do hope there is someone out there that wants Dixie as much as she wants you

Who can't take this great dog in MY OFFER STILL AND WILL STILL STAND. Come on people someone, somewhere, must want to take this beauty in. If only a trail, or a foster home until she finds a new home.

Ooh Tiggy !

She is lovely and I would have her like a shot but just dragged t'other half in to look at her pictures and whilst he also thinks her lovely will not consider whilst we are still in the apartment.

I'll work on him but think it is a hopeless case - just get our apartment sold for us and that will solve the problem!!
( very tongue in cheek!!!)

we are doing our best with your apartment. It is lovely and someone will want it. I know they will. But as for Dixie, we have Kofie in a smaller apartment than yours and we don't have a problem. Please work on your other half. I would so love to see a happy ending to this,. Can you have her on a trial basis for a week or so, just to convience the OH that she is the dog for you??

Hi Helen,

If Dixie's owner has a problem finding a forever home for her I would be willing to foster her as long as she gets on with my dogs. (no payment required) Mine are spayed and neutered so hopefully we should not have any problems that can't be sorted out.
I have worked with and owned dogs for years so am well used to handling them. (in a gentle way)
By the way my dogs live in the house (not outside) as they are part of the family.

Update on Dixie

Well, we went down today to meet her and she is absolutely beautiful - a real darling but sadly we felt we just have not got the space for her and it just would not be fair on her. She is used to a big house and garden and her doggie pal.She loves to play and run and she just could not do that here.

We are both upset but we have to be fair to her. Happily, it has certainly made t'other half remember all the good things about having a dog and how much love they give . I'm sure we will have one, either a smaller one here or any dog when we move and have more room.

BB, thank you so much for going to see her. I am very grateful to you. I totally understand where you are coming from. But your tried and I am so pleased that you took the trouble.

Glad Richard is ok about it Sue and yes I thought that would be the case - let him get used to her first then drop the bombshell, obviously providing she gets on wih your other dogs, but then you will be over the legal limit.
