Hi Neil - and good afternoon to you (morning to the UK guys). Hope you have a good week, but for me, no plans yet, just chillin . . . . . - may have a ride down to Limassol on Thursday, then call at a beach on the way back for a swim and a cool down. I might go in our pool this afternoon, but I'll just take it as it comes.

Retirement - harder work than working - But much more fun

I'm on my last day off before going back to work tomorrow - I've been off duty for 6 weeks now for one reason and another since doing my ankle. Got an appointment with the force physio on Thursday so hopefully they will let me continue full duties.

Going to an aerobics class shortly to give it a quick workout and hockey training starts on Wednesday for the coming season so I've got a lot riding on the physio giving me the all clear!

Hope everyone else has a good week - weather in UK not good for the coming week and can't wait to get to have fun in the sun - this time next month I'll be a real Paphos Person!

Weve got the Estate Agents out this week for selling up, just got rid of one. We'll wait and see what they come up with !!

Then its packing the cases for the hols!!

Just gave HID a hand cleaning a townhouse & now I'm sat in the shop, got a busy week doing this & the Duckpond market on Wednesday, lets just hope its as good as you say Neil, could do with the dosh

Bit late logging on tonight so good night and good morning .

I have just come out of hospital after having a hemi-thyroidectomy so am feeling very sorry for myself. I feel like my throat has been cut, which it has.

I am just going to chill cos I can't really do anything else and feeling really rough. Been signed off work for a month. Oh my god, never had more than a week off at any one time so will probably go stir crazy. Did think about coming over to our place in Cyprus but don't think you can travel for a while after surgery. Just have to sit it out I guess.

Gilly, good news is that youve had major surgery, and are sitting talking about it!! Take your time to recuperate as instructed, dont try to overdo it as this can cause a bigger setback than pre the op. You'll also probably find forums with a special interest in your or similar ops, so you can compare notes and expectations/recovery etc.

Good luck, hope the scar disappears!!

Gilly I had a similar operation some years ago and recovery was quite quick, but don't rush it and look after yourself.
You're right not allowed to fly for awhile after major surgery.

Had my stitches out today so was a bit sore but feels abit better tonight.

Difficult time now cos I have to wait for my results which I am hoping to get next week.
It is a bit scary but have decided that I will worry if and when I need to worry, if you know what I mean.

Only Tuesday, er, sorry Wednesday morning, and already had a busy week. My job at school involves assessment, so this term is always busy. However, trying to get everything tied up before I leave, three weeks work in nine days, is impossible.
Took Rach, our daughter, to Durham tonight. She is flying out tomorrow, with her friends family and staying near Protaris. Just to show how erratic our life has been the last couple of weeks, we thought they were only going out for one week, but they are staying for two. We had arranged for one of our neighbours to pick her up at Larnaca Airport, and take her to Anarita, but now, we can pick her up.
Rachel's prom was last Thursday. She looked really grown up, then her birthday and leaving Rochdale party was on Friday. We took her out on Monday for a meal, to reward her for working so hard on her GCSEs.
Now we have just got to clear the flat and try to find places for everything in our home in Wales. Anyone from the Rochdale area wants a three piece suite?
Our retirement do is on Friday. And, in the final week of term, OFSTED are likely to visit, as we are the only school that they have not inspected in the present cycle of inspections.
Only 13 days and we will be in Anarita, and only 7 more work get ups.

Sounds like you have got a lot on your plate at the moment. Are you taking early retirement from your teaching post and if so how did you come to that decision.
