I know it is possible to buy tickets online for the lottery, but the terms and conditions preclude people playing if it is illegal in the country they live in..................anyone know the situation with respect to someone living in cyprus?

chris

ps - I registered with the lottery before we moved here and meet all the other criteria required to play as well

Judge, you'd probably get a far better return and much more fun if you were to save your pounds up and buy energy company shares.

If you dont have an account set up before you leave the UK...you cant do it!

It must check the electoral roll.. I tried and then had the bright idea of registering it in my mums name and address..bingo got an account sorted but didnt think about paying..went to enter my name and UK switch card details, but hey ho it said no cos I had a different name!

twas a blonde moment!

Chris

If you win £££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££

Will you care about the cost of flying back to the UK to collect your cheque???

I think not! :greetings

BTW. ONLY UK plastic is usable online to buy tickets... :banghead :banghead :banghead

no prob popping back to good old blighty if I needed to, but it would be a real bummer if I needed to and on getting there was refused payment because it was illegal in cyprus - now that WOULD really irritate me!!

Just a twist to this post, what about playing the 'Euro Lottery' :? :?

As that's run by the same company but now Cyprus is in the EU, are you allowed to play that :? :?

If you put 1GBP on the national lottery each week you would have to live to be 37000 years old before you had statiscally a 50/50 chance of landing jackpot out right........good luck

We play the Euromillions each week. I buy our tickets every 4 weeks and the account is registered to my Mum's name and address but I use our UK debit card. Our bank account is in UK but our statements and new cards are issued to our Cyprus address.

We've had 2 wins in the last 3 weeks and the money goes straight back into our lottery account where we can either keep it there to fund our ticket purchases or transfer it back to our debit card. The wins are nothing to shout about :( but it means we won't have to fund our lottery account for the next 5 months

Any very big win will have to be collected by my Mum! Here's hoping

But, for those in UK who play the National Lottery - take a look here: https://www.national-lottery.co.uk/play ... dPrizes.do

Pete, our forum administrator as dutiful as he is thinks i could be up to something "dodgy"I have assured him i am not so here is my "secret"for increasing your chances of drawing the big one on the national lottery.
Simply, put your numbers on in the last few minutes before the draw deadline, because the earlier you put your numbers on,statistically you are ,heaven forbid, more likely to be a victim of murder,or involved in a fatal road accident than you living to enjoy the fruits of your winning ticket.
Hope i have not dissapointed but it is statistically a fact.
It could get worse,i said to my wife, will you re marry if i die? why not she said i am still young enough.and will he live in this house that i have paid for i asked,of course she said why will it bother you.And i suppose he'll be using my treasured golf clubs will he,,oh no she said he does'nt like golf............

hhmmm not entirely convinced that that "secret" will necessarily smack peeps between the eyeballs as a lottery winning formula to be honest.......................words like "taken" and "ride" spring to mind :?
