If any of the readers of my efforts feel inspired and would like to have a go at writing their memoirs or just a funny story why not come along to The Paphos Writers Group. We meet every Thursday at The Coral Star Restaurant, Coral Bay,(Opposite Philipos Supermarket) at 10.30 until 12.30. You will find a mix of writers, published authors, magazine article writers, script writers, or just ordinary people who write for fun. At the moment there are two books in progress a new chapter every week. One is a crime thriller set in Cyprus in the modern day, the other is a story of Fine Art recovery set after the second world war in England and France with a couple of murders mixed in. They are both unfolding very well with a few surprises. Each week there is a suggested theme for a writing piece for the next meeting but not obligatory. If you have a passion for something it will be received with enthusiasm and helpful suggestions. The cost is three euros a week, for refreshment of your choice and the hire of the room. Does that sound appealing to you are you a frustrated author, come along and hopefully enjoy the company of like minded people. New faces and ideas are always welcomed so give it a go, you will enjoy it. |
