Heating your home might not be a big concern right now. However, when winter approaches, temperatures can reach as low as 0°C at night. Suddenly, the idea of a heating system doesn’t sound too bad. A heating system is ideal for emergencies that might leave you too cold otherwise.

If you struggle during cold nights or fall ill, heating systems can maintain a more comfortable temperature in winter. In this article, we’re exploring a few alternative heating systems to help you discover which one is right for you.

Simple log fire and if too chilly then an extra blanket on shoulders.

We would love to install a rocket mass heater but time slips away daily.

The best thing we ever had installed 11 years ago was a log burner
Which we now burn reconstituted hard wood briquettes in each winter
Absolutely fabulous dry, warm heat..So we get no mold patches

Also invested for the bedrooms ....furry bedding ...best thing we ever bought

I favour gas fired central heating wnich was converted from oil fired boiler , unfortunately the oil burners in Cyprus tend to be the basic and primitive type which are less efficient. As side note , burners require modification to run on bio diesel and some of what is sold in Cyprus is not bio diesel but slightly modified chip fat using the wrong stuff will damage your burner !
Also as well as a gas boiler i would like a wood burner but the chimney flue is a problem , as it needs to run inside to not waste so much energy .
