Well after a week where I can only say that every brainless, ignorant and arrogant NUMPTIE has been pointed in my direction (and I am not in the least bit referring to our lovely clients) this particular incident has had me stumped.

Due to the development of what was once a car park, the parking laybys outside our offices are highly sought after. I saw a car pull out. Now the senario is this. I was waiting on the left hand side of the road and the space was on the right hand side. I was not holding up any traffic. A car came in the opposite direction and swiftly pulled into the space! I wound down my window and fairly reasonably said 'Excuse me I have been waiting for that space' - The passenger got out and flashed me a police ID card and said that I was making an illegal road traffic move.

This cannot be right can it. Or you could never turn right again. You would need a roundabout at every junction and you would spend your life making left turns and disappearing up your own exhaust.

Even our friend and lawyer said that this policeman was trying it on.

Has anyone come accross this before??

Even if he wasn't a copper, do you seriously think he have moved out & let you have the space I don't think so its a case of first come, first served these days

Come to think of it, if the rolls were reversed, would you have given up that space because he had been waiting

Yes Pete, actually I would have. If I see someone waiting then I would feel awful nicking the space.

I was just so bloody angry!!

Well I would let it go too Tiggy. I have a lot of patience and honestly it's not worth getting upset about it. My husband would barge in and get upset and they talk about women!
I always give way to cars, letting them out, etc. I don't remember many times anyone else doing it for me.

Thanks Jill! Sometimes I just cannot be bothered to argue with them, It depends on the situation. I always hope that I treat others how I like to be treated. Though it trys your patience at times. Like this morning, our drive to our office was blocked by a car with the keys in it and windows down, The person had parked on double yellows and blocking off the access. I put my hand on the horn of the parked car and after 5 mins an english numptie - lady came back. I explained that she was on double yellows and had blocked off our access and she said 'well, doesn't every one do this? I said yes they do but that doesn't make it right does it! We need the access to unload the car and she watched us struggle with all our stuff before driving off. AHHHHH

True Stuart..... wouldn't put anything past them.

Don't forget our office is in the immigration building and you should see what goes on in the underground car park!!! If you can't see it you can hear it! Why is this person hitting his head on my fist???
