Paphos People

I came over armed with my new sewing machine but somehow didn't find the time to get a stock of fabrics. Can anyone tell me where to fnd a good shop or shops to buy fabrics for both soft furnishings and dressmaking; also sewing supplies like cotton, zips etc.

I do not know about in Paphos but a lot of people travel from far and wide to Georges in Limassol

For zips etc, my mum swears by Zako. They're island wide I think and to my knowledge there's 3 at least in Paphos. Probably the easiest one to get to is in the old town - same building as Next and the car park is at the back.

Angies round the corner to the Mouflon Book Shop in town has both dress and curtain fabric. Marj

Georges - I was there a couple of weeks ago. Go to Limassol, and take the 2nd exit off the highway. You should have the football stadium on the right, and I can't remember the name of the big shop on the left ( if it comes back to me I'll let you know!). Go straight on to the big set of traffic lights, and you should have a big shop called Choices in front of you on the right hand corner. Turn RIGHT here, straight through the next set of traffice lights, then 2nd left opposite a telephone box. Georges is on the right down here. If you get lost - as I did - TWICE - his phone numebr is in the Grapevine, and he is very good at directing you in There is also a massive shop near there that sells allsorts of sewing and crafy things. Carry on past Georges (it's on your right), to the junction, turn left and then right, down to the bottom, turn right and right again and it's on your right. Alternatively George will direct you. Opposite this haberdashers there is also another massive fabric shop.

Sorry if this sounds long winded, but I am doing all this from memory as I am still in teh UK.

Thanks all for suggestions - internet connection has been more down than up since we had it installed. But hey ho, I guess this is Cyprus!!!!
