Hello,
Just spent 2 wonderful weeks exploring Cyprus & think I would like to settle in the Polis area. I noticed Polis had a hospital but could not see the building so no idea how big or small it is. I was wondering if someone needed attention having had a heart attack would there be facilities to cope with the situation?
Anyone who had first hand experience they could share I would appreciate.
Also does anyone know the cost to rent long term a 2-3 bedroom furnished detached house? Also any advice on where to look for listings?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Ann

hi,
We attend Polis Hospital for our medications every 8 weeks, and get them from the Hospital Pharmacy. It is quite busy, if you choose the wrong time, but nowhere as busy as The General in Paphos. We have always found the staff helpful and pleasant. There is an A and E dept with 24 hour service, but we have not used the Out-patient or In-patient services.
The Hospital is on the left on the way to the 'Campsite' and Beach, not too far from the Pedestrian Precinct.

There are two magazines covering the Polis area - 'Polis and Latchi Scene' [PALS] and 'Polis and Latchi' - the latter is available on line - http://www.polisandlatchi.com [for interest]
The main rental companies I know of [apart from BuySell] are http://www.parkerbarnes.com and www. bkcyprus.com [Blue Knight] They have houses /apartments ets in the area and the local villages. Hope this helps. Good Luck - it is a lovely area to live in.

Hi Ann. Polis Hospital would be able to try to stabilise a person suffering with a heart attack. I should imagine they would then ship them out to a bigger unit. It is only a small hospital and is not fully equiped. There is no facility for Xray, for example.
