Water shortage

Just been informed by Peyia Municipality that the Dam / Agricultural water has been turned off and won’t be back on till about mid-day on Sunday and then only for a couple of hours

THIS DOES NOT AFFECT DOMESTIC / DRINKING WATER

But they've not had water since May 29th unless they had a private source!

They have here. My neighbour who lives in Paphos has 2 orchards adjacent to my property and asks me to turn on the water at certain intervals. I have been turning it on for 1 hour every 3rd day since May. Their water comes from Peyia, not a private source

There's always one isn't there?! I'm sure many other farmers would be furious to hear that as they've lost much of their Summer produce! Consumers are having to pay way over the odds for imported produce as the local stuff just isn't available!

I have seen other farmers in this area turning on water BUT as you say, they may have their own bore.

Peyia Municpality regularly water their grassed areas :huff This from a few days ago

Very sad indeed, however I do believe that the building of all these new complexes for example the one at Cap St George, is one of the prime causes of lack of water.

They are pumping tonnes of concrete into foundations and using it to build the houses - villas, if you take out water like they are doing and not replacing it well its a no brainer.

They should look at the infrastructure, like water before they build, in my humble opinion food comes before luxury villas.
