We had occassion to visit AIK offices in Paphos yesterday & as part of a discussion with one of their 'customer services representatives' were informed that the current manopoly they enjoyed was indeed to be broken to facilitate competition.
However, this piece of good news provided from an 'insider' was short lived. When we asked if there was to be a Regulator to be appointed to oversee the new competing supply companies, their reply was that the current AIK 'Management team' are to be given this responsibility!
Those of you looking for change in favour of reduced costs & simpler bills may now abandon all hope!
The current electricity 'mandarins' have it appears successfully secured their own cosseted future before all else - why are we not surprised!
