Anyone noticed the monthly charge hike by AHK on the latest bill?

No announcement or explanation given - is it legal?

Time a regulator was appointed to control these grasping barstewards!

We await our latest bill.
Could you kindly give us details of exactly what increase you have experienced?
Sounds a rip-off.
Amos.

Yes Exodus, it equates to an increase of about 4 euros per month for us - a definite rip-off by stealth!

Thanks for that. It won't break the bank but I would like to know on what basis they justify these increases. What is stopping them making further increases?

My point entirely!

AHK have a monopoly, there is no competition, Regulator nor any government policy to change the status quo & I suspect a large proprtion of their employees are 'gifted' jobs based upon family or social relationships.

Alongside the above, they appear to be the dearest providers in the whole of Europe!

Are there any pressure groups in protest?

it sure seems strange to me that the previous tariff seemed to encourage less use - as the more you used the more it cost - whereas this seems to encourage the opposite.....

Thank you.

Thanks for the PDF.

Now I have more questions ...
WTH is the three category describe ?

- Energy Charge per unit (kWh) 9,20 cent
- Network Charge per unit (kWh) 3,13 cent
- Ancillary Services Charge per unit (kWh) 0,67 cent

My prev tariff#5 had no such, just a step type of usage:0-120-320-500-1000-...
In my case it's looks like justa adding e4.21 per two months :(

If this is tariff 01 I think they just charge the same per KWh regardless of usage, being the sum total of those 3 x the units used.
However I am open to correction!
Amos.

Yes, it's an extortion from tariff#1.

I'm just don't understand what each type mean ? And why three of those ?

Back to the topic.

I just came from AiK office after my conversation with two AiK's employees. Here is outlined info provided to me:

test[/*]
- why I cannot make a list of items by using phpBB tags ?

- In Nov 2017 issued new tariffs 1/2/8, old tariffs like #5 doesn't exists anymore
- tariff#2 doesn't applicable to net-metering system
- new tariffs made for future of non-monopoly electricity production, distribution and "epiqurio" part (that's one familiar word on Greek what I pick from a discussion between two employees, when I did ask what third fee "Ancillary" means ?)
- current scale is flat, they did drop that rising e/kWh rate [0-120-200-300...]

So, re-check your electricity bills received after Nov'17.

Thanks Sergio, I must admit I just look at the number of units used and the total cost as some figures remain the same and others change from bill to bill depending on the rate at the time the bill is calculated.

Yes, clear as mud (by design) as usual!

Whilst on the subject, can anyone explain how those using the Net Metering system can rationalise their bills?

I was told the meter reading '0' was for usage & the meter reading '5' was electricity generated & fed into the grid.
Sounds simple, however, I have been keeping a record of the total generated electricity from my PV system & the comparison of those figures per day against the figures for the '5' meter readings - there are significant differences.

Can anyone explain why there are differences at all?
Is it simply that my system 'tracker' is incorrect or has the '5' meter has been 'adjusted' (in a similar fashion to a cars speed governer) to reduce the volume of electricity 'posted' to the grid & thereby increase the billed amount?

I was in same position when tracked the numbers daily, still thinking how to measure the difference: an amount of electricity provided by my solar system to my house devices directly. IMO best method is install additional meter (you can buy it for e45-50) to the line what coming into home right after your main CB.
As to proper calculating, you'll need to take into account two more numbers: electricity produced by PV system (at an inverter) and electricity consumed by your appliances, measured by your own meter.

I like to look at things simply , how much electricity have I used and how much has it cost me .

If I divide my total amount charged by the number of kWh used I found .

Under tariff 05 it was 0.18 per kWh .

Now with tariff 01 it is 0.17 per kWh .

So it looks like I have had a reduction , or am I looking at it wrong ?

Up to 500 KWh per 2-month billing period you are correct. If you use more than that on the old 05 it cost you more per KWh over 500. As I read it on tariff 01 the cost per KWh remains the same, but on the old 05 it went up. So if your usage exceeds 500 KWh per billing period it is even more cheaper with 01.
But I stand to be corrected, the published data by EAC is complicated to say the least.
Amos.

in my experience so far on new tariff and based on my spreadsheet of our use the overall rate per unit goes down the more i use - on tariff 01 - there isnt as far as i can seen any banding of usage on the new 01 tariff -- (nothing fed to grid from my panels as mine are solely for daytime generated and used power)... so mine is easy to check via a remote meter showing actual, realtime usage daily weekly and monthly recorded for upto 50days = proving to be quite accurate to bills and a meter readings

Hi Sergio,
Given that the '05' meter reading features on the electricity bill, am I correct to assume that the '05' meter reading actually indicates the 'residual electricity' posted to the grid - i.e. the result of PV system generated, minus the electricity consumed by my appliances?

That's correct - law of physics: energy produced [and measured] by two sources (grid and PV system) equal consumed in house and taken out to the grid. We just have no metering of one branch - to house, but you could calculate it have other three: "I","5" and at Inverter [or from Internet from your inverter's mfg site].

Hi Sergio,

Maybe you can answer the question this attempt at rationalisation raises?
Two readings from the meters & Invertor 24 hours apart, the first subtracted from the second to indicate the delta.

Rationalisation test;
'0'meter: 1250.3 - 1232.5 = 17.8
'5'meter: 1018.3 - 1015.4 = 2.9
Invertor: 10.01 - 5.07 = 4.94
Not posted to grid: 4.94 - 2.9 = 2.04

These figures seem to indicate only 2.9 / 4.94 = 58.7% of electricity generated is posted to grid via the '5' meter, why not all?
Is it that the AIK company is getting a bonus of 41.3% of the generated electricity gratis from my PV Solar System?

Nope.
It's your bonus [2.04 KWh] - the difference directly consumed (day time) by your household devices, like heaters, WiFi/Internet router, freezer, etc

Hi Sergio,
I was forgetting that no transfer of electricity generated by the PV system takes place after sunset, so the 'residual' is indicated on the '5' meter. :doh
