Hi All
Do any of you know of a shop that supplies and sells the Arab Sat or Nile Sat systems , that have various news and English channels.
The one we had as gradually lost all stations .
Maybe there is someone who can reconfigure our existing system
Thanks
Les

Nilesat are decomissioning their satellite and replacing with a new one, I believe most of the channels are still available but they have moved to different frequencies, I suspect some are now available in hd . I don't know if the old boxes will work with the new hd channels. The dog eat our remote so we can't reprogramme our boxes. Goto andies telecom in paphos town, very nice man who I am sure will have the answer. Yes I need to go to see him too.

I would check capability of your satbox and compare with Lyngsat page describing all relevant parameters of the channels. I did install recently 1m dish with universal LNBF, the owner's old MPEG-2/DVB-S receiver brought a lot channels what he want. Perhaps channels of your interest require DVB-S2/MPEG-4 box ?

Yes sergio I had noticed the old transmittions were dvb-s and some of the new ones are dvb-s2 but I don't 8nderstand how significant the difference is ?

substantially different, if your STB does not support DVB-S2
it will require to dismiss and buy new one: supporting DVB-S2 sat signals and MPEG-4 video decoding
@oakland - you don't need "special" nielsat receiver, any universal would do the job; perhaps one feature is most - CI slot if you have subscription card with CI sleeve
