Neil,the last time my wife told me to put my big coat on,i asked her why,,she said " I,ve turned the central heating off  because I,M going out.

Just read an article on oymyakon and the photograpier said it was hard to focus the camera, reminded me when I worked for hasselblad you could have your camera and lens "winterised" this involved stripping down the equipment cleaning all the grease off in solvent and then rebuilding again using no grease , only special oil, I think there were 2 grades of winterising depending on how cold it was going to be. When you came back from your arctic photo shoot the equipment needed to stripped and greased again. |
