Paphos People

Hi we arrived 3 weeks ago, we're renting out in the wilds 'Agious Demitrianos' (spelling) 5k past Polemi.

Our pets (two cats and dog) have settled in fine although I wish that we could say the same about the phone and internet facilities that we were assured existed in the peoperty.

At the moment we're having to use the internet cafes for conection and picking up messages aa well as sorting out our finances..

Hopefully MS shipping will have our boxes here next week although I don't know how long it will take to unload and deliver.

Anybody who has any info on alternative phone and internet providers please send me the info as it is getting expensive coming into town to access the internet.

Spoke to John today after he has exhausted the cyta route - he should be on line soon.

I just have to learn how to install a sat broadband system, as I have some in-stock ready to install! May have to ask Mannie from Shipshape for help here though.

I have been watching your posts with great interest over several months now. The reason being we where both retiring at about the same time, and hoping to move about the same time also. So it is with some envy I read your latest post. We are still in the UK trying to sell our house.I was hoping we would be moving in either May or June but no luck yet.
I am sure you will soon settle and iron out these problems and will soon be sitting back with a village red laughing about these things.Hopefully I will soon face similar problems.

Many thanks for the welcoming messages, bit frustrated; 5 weeks and still no boxes arrived, 3 weeks and still no internet or phone connection or updates regarding connection.

All but one of the promises made by house agent not kept (we actualy got a bathroom window repaired) .

So all in all a bit pee'd off.

This may be Cyprus but our let downs have not been by Cypriots.

Hi John,

Scott and myself are attending a training day on Sat broadband installations on Monday, as I cannot get them to work. We will be over Tuesday (assuming we pass!) and get your internet connection on. Will confirm appointment tomorrow. I have tried to get other installers to come out, but none have even had the politeness to reply. I would hate to think that you would think that I am letting you down, but I just to not have experience in this area - and have already made myself look stupid once last week.
