Midnight last night Monarch Airlines went bust, no longer to fly again, tourists stuck around the world, very sad day because I often flew with them, I believe they were the better airline from Paphos back to the UK (my opinion).
Just watch the remaining airlines, they will up their prices because the competition is failing, so in the coming months flights back and from the UK may cost you more.

They brought a flight into Paphos from Birmingham last Wednesday.
I took our guest to catch the return flight at 21.35 hrs. .... Phew !
Lucky .... But says that she would not have minded extending her stay, as she is now 'back to the grind-stone' ! ;)

There's a link here where people can check the details of their Monarch flights:

https://monarch.caa.co.uk/customers/i-a ... ew-flight/

You will see that there are people in Cyprus who are affected at both RoC airports......

I agree, last week EasyJet released summer flights early to jump on the Ryanair fallout, prices were slightly up. Now waiting for release of September PFO-LGW and IMO I think they’ll up the prices.

Will not stop us coming over though! :sunny

We have friends who have lost their flights to TFS next January and yesterday they watched flight prices steadily increase throughout the day. Unfortunately, they couldn't rebook until another member of their party returned home from work last night so no idea how much they ended up paying in the end for their replacement seats.

They were informed they will be refunded for their Monarch flights but at the moment nobody knows exactly when that will be. They are UK pensioners who don't have a great deal of spare funds but they always try to escape the UK winter for about 6 weeks from the middle of January each year and just book an apartment in the same complex each time.

Unfortunately very sad for all concerned - I have found this year flights coming to paphos really cheap and struggle to understand how they are covering costs let alone make a profit - just hope this is the last major airline to go under however I doubt it. Suspect we will all end up paying more.
