Your bill for water in Paphos is about to go up by almost 8% due to an EU directive; how often does Cyprus follow these, only when it suits it! :pint

Given what Junker said yesterday about the future of the EU, if they put in place their un-elected finance minister (maybe someone like Jeroen Dijsselbloem who wanted to seize all bank deposits in Cyprus and call it a tax) this will be only a taste of what is to come, unless Cyprus rejects the EU or the whole project comes crashing down. The future is bright ... the future is authoritarian. :-(

Food for thought ... for Cyprus and the other 26 expected to stay in the EU.
They want to standardise taxes (i.e. put them UP to a standard level).

CYEXIT would be fantastic ...
default on the EU ,
bring back the CY pound , de-value it for a while ,
tourists would flock,,, hey presto !!
